SIGHTINGS
In “Sightings,” a single woman becomes many—goddess, creature, spirit, saint. Through a series of richly imagined color portraits, she embodies a multitude of forms drawn from mythology, folklore, fairy tales, and divine archetypes. Each image becomes a portal to what we once believed—or still long to believe—was real.
The subjects in Sightings are not literal recreations of known deities or characters. They are suggestions. Echoes. They dwell in the space between memory and invention, where imagination shapes meaning and myth transcends time. One may resemble a forest spirit whispered about in childhood stories. Another, the ghost of a forgotten goddess whose name was lost but whose power still lingers in our collective subconscious. Each figure invites us to remember something we were never taught, but somehow always knew.
The choice to depict every role through a single woman is intentional. It reminds us that divinity, transformation, and magic are not external forces, but reflections of what we carry within. Through shifting costumes, environments, and gazes, she holds multitudes—sometimes vulnerable, sometimes fierce, always potent.
Sightings is a visual offering to the sacred unknown. A celebration of the stories we’ve used to make sense of the world—and of ourselves. It honors the human instinct to create symbols from stars, gods from nature, and meaning from mystery. In a time of cynicism and surface, this work calls us to return to wonder.
